TheFam is built by Crafted. We take your family's privacy seriously. This policy explains what data we collect, where it lives, and what we do with it.
Family events, members, and calendar data are stored in your personal iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit service. We do not operate any database that holds your family's events. Only you and the family members you invite can see this data.
We use Sign in with Apple to identify the owner of each family. Apple provides us with a unique user ID that does not reveal your personal Apple ID or email. This ID is used only to associate you with your family record in iCloud.
When you use TheFam to add events from a photo, PDF, link, or pasted text, the content you submit is sent through our backend service and on to OpenAI for processing. OpenAI reads the content briefly, pulls out the event details, and returns them. We do not store your submitted content on our backend. OpenAI's own retention policy applies to what we send them.
Your subscription status is verified through Apple's StoreKit framework. We do not store payment information.
Because your data lives in your iCloud account, you can delete it at any time by deleting the app and removing TheFam from iCloud's app list in Settings → Your Name → iCloud. Subscription management is handled by Apple and can be cancelled at any time in Settings → Your Name → Subscriptions.
